Well, after months of research and myriad questions asked of you all, yesterday I purchased my first Jaguar -- a 2013 XF 3.0. I flew out to CA and drove the car 450 miles back home last night. It was dark and raining by the time I got in, so I'll take and post some pictures later today. I had originally been searching for a 2012 with the 5.0L V-8, but I got a really great deal on this car and couldn't pass it up.
The car is Stratus Grey over Charcoal and has the Premium Package w/825W Meridian as well as the 20" Sport Portfolio Pack which really gives the car an aggressive stance. Just under 18k miles when I took delivery yesterday.
I have a few questions that I was hoping to get answered:
1) I purchased the car from a non-Jaguar dealer, but in reviewing the documents in the glove box, I see that the previous owner had purchased it as a Jaguar Select CPO. According to Jaguar's website, CPO is transferrable, but I am wondering if it would be in this case? The original factory warranty still has 17 months/32k miles remaining, but it would really be a home-run if the car was in fact a CPO and thus had even longer warranty coverage.
2) The original window sticker states "First Complimentary Scheduled Maintenance," but I recall reading on this forum that the complimentary maintenance extends beyond just one service interval.
3) When playing music through my iPhone, I was surprised that I couldn't play Bluetooth audio while the phone was being charged via the USB port. Thus, I switched to play music through the USB cable and it sounded awful -- crackling and distorted. Is this typical or likely just time for a new iPhone lightning cable?
4) Regarding the Meridian Surround System, it really sounds amazing. The previous owner had set the surround to the Dolby setting which I too thought sounded superior to the Meridian Surround and DTS options. Are there circumstances when the others would perform better?
OK that's enough questions for now, as I'm sure others will arise over the next few days of getting used to the car.
Thanks to everyone on here that has assisted me during my research process. I really love this car and look forward to a long relationship with Jaguar. Pics to follow today if it stops raining.
OK so it's rained everyday since I bought the car, so unfortunately I still don't have any photos of the exterior (with the Sport Aero kit and 20" Hydra wheels it really looks sharp). In the meantime, here are a few pics I snapped after conditioning the leather and cleaning up the interior a bit.
I'm hoping the weather cooperates the rest of the week so I can get her all cleaned up for a photo shoot this weekend.
To find out about the CPO Warrenty, call your servicing dealer or Jag directly and have them run the VIN. They will tell you the "in-service" date that the factory Warrenty and the Select Warrenty (if you have it) dates are based off of.
If i recall correctly, you cannot use Bluetooth audio if you have anything plugged into the USB Jack. My iPod that is plugged into the USB Jack sometimes looses connection on hard turns or fast starts. Really irritating. I have tried several cords and securely mounting the iPod, nothing helps, I think it is a loose Jack.
