Default Noise backing up and turning

Hi there! I picked up a 2011 XF SC 5L last fall and love the vehicle (probably gonna do some things to increase throttle response though, it seems sleepy). I've recently noticed a sound like something dragging on the ground when reversing and turning sharply. I noticed some wear in one wheel well, so that's possibly just rub, but man it sounds more gravelly than rubber on plastic. Anyone experience this? I've also thought of: struts, axle, differential, and rear brakes. Thanks!

Ok, it's the tire on the wheel well, only reversing and only with wheel locked one direction (left). If I back off the turn slightly it's fine. I guess maybe the plastic guard inside the well is bulging slightly for some reason.

First fix the wheel housing liner, then check if the sound is still there. Looks to me you've already found the cause of the issue.

I have to see why it's bulging. I notice a zip tie weaved through the liner rearward of the wheel, is that normal?

It's not normal - somebody worked there before a broke the clips that hold it in place or lost the clips that hold it in place - it's probably just not seated properly or damaged.
I'd recommend getting a new liner and installing it yourself - then you don't have to worry about annoying sounds anymore.
