Default Oil Temperature Sensor

Hello,

I have a faulty oil temperature sensor on my car, a 2011 Jaguar XF 3.0 Diesel, which means I also can’t check the oil level in the engine. Which is a worry.

the part number I got from Jaguar is C2S21863, this part is not available from Jaguar and all after market suppliers are also saying not available, dealer part only.

can anyone help?

That's a tough one and I find the same thing as you did?
This is the sensor in the cylinder head? It looks like jaguar had a sump temperature sensor on some of those engines and then later the cylinder head had the temperature sensor.

Only suggestion is JaguarLandRoverClassic Parts. They show it but It's out of stock. I would at least contact them to see if it "might" be coming in?

I have spoke to Jaguar on 3 occasions they are saying they are completely discontinued.

I have changed the level sensor but didn’t look around the lower block for a temp sensor, technical drawings are saying cylinder head which is a pain.

everyone that Jaguar have put me in contact with have said no and same as any aftermarket suppliers.
