Conflicting information on oxygen sensors.
i need a bank two downstream sensor and was wondering if its the passenger side sensor located mid car where the exhaust comes close together or is it located somewhere else.

part 2 are There 4 or 6 sensors
i have a 2013 xf sport portfolio 3.0 awd i have heard there are 4 but also read that there are 6?

I can tell you this Mr. Farrell - My recent replacement was Bank 1 Sensor 3 and it was past the Cat on the passenger side. Pretty tight work area and you will need the special socket that allows the wires to stick through if you plan on doing it yourself. While Jaguar had mine on the hoist I looked up at the replacement and no way I could have done this myself without having the vehicle at least a good couple of feet off of the ground. Not sure how many sensors there are. Four for sure but I have a '13 XF 5.0 Supercharged Portfolio.

bfarrell, did you find your bank 2 oxygen sensor? Was it on the drivers side as SunFlower was suggesting? I too am confused with regard to which side is Bank 2? Mine is a Bank 2, Sensor 1 (before Catalytic Convertor).

It is a bit confusing and I can never remember which is which!

Here is the 5.0L naming conventions showing several different ways of doing it. Since the V-6 is based on the V-8 block I think it's the same? Don't know for sure?

Maybe Bank A=1 and bank B=2?

Thanks Clubairth1! After research, my "best guess" is that my bank 2 on my 2013 SC 3.0 AWD XF (USA - steering wheel on left, while driving), is on the (left while driving) drivers side. This appears to agree with that.guess - so I'll continue with that assumption.

Remember, O2 sensors are replaced free of charge for 2013-2015 XF

Wow Jssaab, I had no idea. Thank you so much for sharing this. I will check with my local Jaguar dealer, but it might not apply because my codes are: P0152 & P2234? I don't see these codes listed in the bulletin.

Is there something else that you recommend that I try before the O2 sensor replacement? P0152 is referencing O2 Circuit High Voltage & P2234 is referencing O2 Sensor Signal Circuit Shorted to Heater Circuit? On a side note, my air hasn't been working properly at times (sometimes blowing hot air for the 5-10 minutes, then sometimes working well & other times not). My plan is to have a professional look at the air once I get my check engine light off.

Thank you too for clarifying my O2 sensor location. The diagram clearly states that my O2 sensor: Bank 2, sensor 1 is on the LH drivers side, in the most forward position (before the catalytic convertor).

Just a note on the O2 extended warranty letter?
It appears that you will only be covered if the service is done by a Jaguar dealer. I just replaced it on my own as it's a very simple repair. I then sent my receipt into Jaguar along with the O2 sensor warranty letter but never got anything back?

You have a code pointing to an O2 sensor so you have good info and I would just go ahead and change it. The cost is only about $60-$80 new.
Hopefully you don't have any wiring problems but have you taken a look yet?

nope covered anywhere you get it done as long as the part is genuine Jaguar. Seems you got aftermarket ones if you only paid so little. Real ones are 200+

OK thanks you have filled in the blanks! Yes I used an aftermarket Denso O2 sensor. Of course it's funny because Jaguar used Denso branded O2 sensors from the factory so yes I purchased the exact same part. Just NOT from a Jaguar dealer.

I wonder how much more the dealer would have charged for the exact same O2 sensor?
Sounds like Jaguar will charge $200+ for a $60 part?
I guess it was best after all to just change it myself. I knew about the warranty but it was a lot more work to make an appointment, take the car down and wait or come back. I changed it in under an hour on my lift. I went ahead and replaced both sensors in that position as I figured they both had the same amount of use on them.

You can buy the part from the dealer but bring you Registration card to show your VIN and they just refund you right there (at least that was my dealer)

I thought the Bosch was the OE part

The ones I removed were Denso so I used the part number on the sensor to purchase the replacement.
I wonder if Jaguar changed O2 suppliers around the 2013-2014 time frame? They also went to Denso from Bosch for the PCM (Maybe it was the other way? I can't remember.)
As I got into that when I put a tune on the car.

We do know Jaguar made significant electrical system changes to try and fix the numerous electrical problems from the early Bosch system. I "think" that's the main reason for the supplier change.

Good information on how to get the warranty. Any idea what you paid at the dealer for the O2 sensor?

I declined the $650 4x4 service & $250 throttle body service that they recommended. Any opinions, if I should have had these done? I see that they recommend throttle body service every year (or 15k miles).

I realize this is an old post, but i wouldnt imagine throttle body cleaning being much more than buying a $20 can of throttle body cleaner and spraying half the can through, often does work wonders though.. generally helps rough idle, better economy, abit more power etc if it's getting pretty grubby..
