Default Painted Brake Calipers

Hey folks, I decided to start a new thread instead of adding to my post about stuck lug nuts. So here are my painted calipers with red caramic paint. It took me a whole afternoon to do all four. The cleaning process is slow. Calipers are exposed to road dirt, rust, pad dust, grease and thus it takes ages to really get them clean. Removing the wheels is bitch, each rim I estimate is about 50lbs putting them back on is even worse. Aside from the looks the paint does a great job at protecting the caliper from the enviroment.

Rique, those came out good. Not as bad against your color car as i thought they would have been.

BTW, what's the black strip of molding on the rear door? If it is what i think it is, you have to take it off

I agree the color of the car and wheels make a angressive yet elegant combo. The strips gotta stay. My garage is long fits four big cars but its narrow so when my wife or kids open the door they hit a stone wall that chips the doors badly.

Gotcha. In that case, smart move. I would have done the same.

Has anyone tried one of these caliper covers? It appears installing these would be easier than painting the calipers.

I did not go that way because under the cover rust and grime runs wild.

I clicked the 'thank you' button when I was thinking to click 'quote' button.

Anyway,,, I thought about putting those on my vette but I thought it would enclose the caliper more which would trap more heat. As we all know, heat is the enemy... so I didn't go that route.
I've seen it on a few cars. I looks ok from the distance, but looks very 'toy r us' plastic-y up close.

So, if you want your Jag to have a painted caliper and look as nice as it should, I would suggest you go with OPs route - painting.
