I've started to notice this issue where the passenger airbag light comes on at random times when someone is sitting there.. If I turn off and back on it goes away but sometimes comes back.. Anyone else have this issue?

 

I frequently have this issue too. I think if the person's knees are too close to the glove box it goes off because it senses that the airbags might hurt them in a crash. This is an assumption though, not entirely sure if that's the issue. I do know that when my husband who is tall puts the seat all the way back and puts his knees down it seems to resolve the issue.

 

I don't there is any sensing at the dash level - it's governed by a weight sensor in the passenger seat.
