Just a heads-up, the authentic PCV valve kits (Jaguar C2D60163 or Land Rover LR133579) don't come with new springs, just a black plastic cap and an orange membrane (which is prone to failure/tearing over time), so save your original springs or buy aftermarket PCV valves which include new springs.
I'm almost finished proactively replacing a lot of stuff, including the PCV valves, but I accidentally ordered ONLY ONE from Jaguar Raleigh (my Atlanta ste@lership [the forum turned the previous word into all stars - WTH?] group wants $87 + tax for each PCV valve), and it was taking forever to arrive, so I ordered another one from Atlantic British, thinking it would arrive faster. Well, the one from Atlantic British ended up being an aftermarket brand (Hudson), even though I put in my order comments that I only wanted authentic parts, not aftermarket garbage (a comment which they obviously dismissed). I was pretty pissed off that Atlantic British didn't designate that it was an aftermarket part on their website and clearly disregarded my communication, especially considering I paid almost exactly as much for it (Atlantic British/Hudson part: $37.95 + $15.12 shipping = $53.07 Total) as I did the authentic part from Jaguar Raleigh (JLR part: $42.01 + $12.65 shipping = $54.66 Total). But, when I then realized that the one from Jaguar Raleigh didn't even come with a spring because JLR, in their infinite wisdom, doesn't include springs with them, I was even more pissed off. I mean, at least the Atlantic British knockoff PCV valve came with a spring. And, to make matters worse, the JLR springs are apparently unavailable for purchase. What in the absolute hell???
Luckily, I kept my original PCV springs, but after 11 years, they're now different heights for some reason. I'm not sure if the springs' proportional constant (stiffness) and subsequent restoring force are now different from each other or if it even matters, but are springs now considered lifetime parts by JLR, as well as so many other stupid things about which they've been wrong??? Clearly, the fact that my original springs are now different heights suggests that they do wear out over time. So, does one have to buy a whole new valve cover to get some new $0.01 PCV springs from JLR or are you better off buying cheap Chineseium parts with included springs??? What world do we now live in?! Serenity now!!!
