Now I feel greedy; we already have a 2013 XFR, and just bought a 2008 X358 XJR to replace our old X350 XJ6 runabout. Now tell me there's no God out there looking after us. Both fantastic cars, in subtly different ways; probably a lot less expensive in England than elsewhere.

I'm sure I have read somewhere that new Jags in the US cost significantly less than new Jags in the UK despite the shipping cost.
I know that the Pontiac GTO (Holden Monaro) and the Chevy SS (Holden Commodore SS) cost way less in the US than they did in Oz where they were built. One pointer why the Oz car building industry is now kaput.

Sorry Phil, but those Yanks have it all over us, they have the most ridiculously cheap prices for new and used Jags, not much more than 1/3 what I would pay in Oz and way less than you would pay in Blighty/Europe.

I can attest to this. I bought my XFR only a few months ago. When I was doing my research I wasn't looking for anything specifically, just something a bit "special". I looked at C63/E63 Merc's, BMW M3's, and Jags. I ended up buying a 13MY XFR with 40k miles on the clock, when for the same money the best I could do with the BMW and Merc's was something 2-3 years older and ~20k more miles. Needless to say, I think I made the right decision.
You definitely made the right decision; the XFR is still the ultimate super saloon. With a very inexpensive remap, and a smaller blower pulley, one can go out supercar baiting, and win.

In the same boat, having already owned a 2012 XF with the 5.0 V8, when I was looking for an upgrade I could not find a better value elsewhere. So I ended up getting another XF, this time the R ofcourse . I paid the price of what an average BMW 5 or Audi A6 would cost and mine is CPO'd to a longer period than even the newer Germans!
