Default platinum coverage plan?

I guess this plan is on all of the 2011's? Anybody know if there are strings attached or if it actually covers everything it describes?

Haven't had a need to use it yet on my 2011, but there aren't any strings. Jaguar is trying to equal coverage from BMW.

Having just bought a new XF, (I ended up with a leftover 10 which does NOT come with this plan). It seems it covers all required maintenance for the 5 year period. (Maintenance is only required every year or 15,000 miles) It also covers some wear and tear items. It specifically lists brakes, rotors, wipers, but specifically excludes tires. As the likelihood of needing new brakes in 50000 miles is slim, you are basically getting 3-5 oil changes, a brake fluid change and maybe a set or two of new wipers. Most of the other maintenance is "inspections" and checks. It's nice if you don't want to do your own maintenance though. I would be real leery of waiting to do my first oil change at 15,000 miles but that's just me.

Good luck!
Paul

I usually keep vehicles longer than 3 years and so opted for an extension on my new XJL but in hind site i should have simply started a maintenance savings account and "self insured" ... oh well .

RxCritical is 100% correct. It's an attractive maintenance plan for a lot of buyers. And the SLX oil for the 5.0 liter is supposedly good for beyond 15,000 miles. For peace of mind, though, we are offering our customers who drive in "severe conditions" (and if you commute in Atlanta in your Jag, that's nearly everyone) a 7,500 mile maintenance interval, not free of course. Are there strings attached? Not really, as everything truly is disclosed up front. But those who use their Jag as a daily driver might want to consider a more frequent maintenance interval.
