Does this seem like a bad idea?

 

If its been well maintained, it should be fine. my mods were all done after 60k mi.

 

What does the Jailbreak tune entail? And can any tuner do it or does it need to go to Jailbreak? Seems like that is what everyone uses.

 

You have to have the tuning tool sent to you, have a good internet connection, and make a few connections to the car. Jailbreak then remotes in to exchange the files and "voila", more power! My friend isn't a computer guy or a car guy and had no issues.

 

I was considering ETG or Eurocharged (whose package is only $1k for pulley&tune). It seems like the only place I can find the Jailbreak tune is on this forum and a facebook page for a shop in AZ. If I don't go through Eurocharged, I may wait for a sale or something to come around. I haven't really looked around yet for local tuners either.
