Radio/ touch screen rebooting randomly
Hey guys I have a 2012 Jaguar XF. Sometimes I’ll be driving and for some odd reason my radio will restart itself. The radio will continue to work after it came back on but I was just curious to see if anyone had had the same problem. The battery thats in the car is the same one that placed in the car when they made it. But the battery hasn’t shown me any signs of low charge. Could it be something simple as a low battery or could it be something more severe? Also sometimes when I apply some speed to my car it makes ones of my headlights go out. After I turn them off and back on they seem to work fine but this can be annoying at times. Could this have something to do wit battery as well or what do you guys think?
Had similar experience. Root cause was sunroof drains were plugged, water soaked through and into the wells under the seats that contain several modules. The Sat radio module had died from the water - replaced module, dried interior, blew out drains and back in proper business.
It can be any of the modules causing the reboot. Check to make sure no more water in the module area. I suggest you try the fibre loop and test to see which module is causing the problem. Then once found try drying it out... you may have to open it to do that. it may work, if only for a while. If a module is needed look on ebay.I've had 2 different modules with the water issue, one on my car one on my wife 's.
