Ready for the snow.
You can read about the deal I got in the thread I started about snow tires a few weeks ago.
Here is the test fit this afternoon. What do you think? Like the black?

Debating the black wheels for my own car (black car); with the blue the gloss black wheels look fine. Tire dressing on the rubber would help bring up the look of the winter tire with the rest of your fine looking vehicle.
Just did winter tire shopping after we got about 8" of snow in the last week. Found it was only about $300 more to go with an 18" rim/tire/tpms package vs the stock 19" tires only (18" Sottozero $1625 vs 19" sottozero $1325). So anyone else in the market may want to explore downsizing not only for the performance benefit but also the piece of mind of having a second set.

Downsizing helps protect the rim from damage also. Snow often hides potholes until it's too late to avoid them.
Taller sidewalls aid traction by flexing more than shorter, lower profile tires.
You'll like those new Sottozeros especially if you fitted the new Serie II.

As an update, we got 4 inches and ice before that and the new tires handled it well.
The wheel size is causing no issues at all.
The tires are very stable on the highway and do not have any noticeable road noise.
They stop well, turn well, and unless on shear ice, start good in winter mode.
No comment on tire wear as I won't be able to say anything until Spring.
However, when the pavement is warm, they do not have good excelleration traction. These are good for cold weather driving, but not a good year-around tire. (Duh, they are snow tires for a reason)

You may be pleasantly surprised as those Sottozeros wear out. I drove my worn out Sottozero all last summer, including a round trip to California, and was blown away by just how good the tire carcass is. Allowing for a little tread squirm at 5 mm depth ( about 6/32) the grip was truly impressive. Give your Sottozero a chance to scuff the new tread and see if the bare road handling doesn't impress you.
