Default Rear indicator issues

Wondering if anyone has come across this before. On the rear drivers side light cluster the indicator doesnt flash properly, it will light up a very small amount of the whole light or not light up at all. However if you put the hazards on it works fine, also all other indicators work fine (front, side mirrors, passenger side rear indicator)

I havent looked at fuses yet but if its lighting up at all I dont think thats a possability?
similarly I dont think the unit itself has gone otherwise the hazards would not flash?

Any ideas?

tell a lie, I just tested this again and now when on hazards its doing the same thing. Is this indicative of a faulty rear light cluster?

It sounds like a classic case of a bad earth. Check the wiring to the lamp for corrosion or looseness, etc.
