After installing XFR exhaust on my 3.0 AWD, the shop did not re-install an undercarriage brace.I was trying to figure out it's purpose.
@OzXFR investigated for me in the manual not much was said there.
Scouring the internet I found this:
After looking at rear suspension parts I found this part is a "Floor Pan Reinforcement" and is listed as a part for all XF.C2Z9087
The parts catalog lists the XFR and sportpack as having 2 extra pieces listed as a support brace in the manual and catalog included with a separate number also listed to fit on my car. One of those pieces (the thin rod) was the part left off my car
The floor pan that the part reinforces, seems to be the same across all models.
IN general it seems the additional parts are listed for the XFR and Sport Pack. Why is was on my car is a mystery, but if it is more suspension support, I want it back. (Called the shop and they are looking for it_)
I am going to look at the car later today and see if the one that looks like a strut tower brace is there
