Remote Key Not Detected
I recently purchased a 2012 Jaguar XF 5.0L. I've been experiencing issues with my remote key fobs. The vehicle was purchased with one operating key fob. I have since had a second fob programmed and key cut by a locksmith. I've had periodic issues over this past month of ownership with the key fobs randomly not detected, but will eventually start.
I have replaced the batteries in both fobs with new Duracell 2032 batteries. At first I thought it was an issue with interference with having the fob in my pocket and the vehicle not detecting the key, but I've had the same issue with leaving the key near the cupholder. I've tried placing the fob in the slot and it still won't start. After several minutes, it seems to finally detect the key and I'm able to get the car started.
I've read on the forum, that disconnecting the vehicle battery in the trunk for 30 minutes may resolve this issue, and I've also seen videos where people have had to have the BCM re-programmed?
What steps do your recommend to diagnose my issue?
Thanks in advance. Love the car so far, but am experiencing my first of the "Jag electronic issues"
