Hi!
After having some issues with the old mbcm, I replaced this module and the previous issues are gone. The problem now is that I'm unable to configure the "new" one as a new module. After running the "new module auxiliary junction box" it runs into errors at the end, and doesn't let SDD to finish (routine completed and failed - 0x401). It gives the above screenshots. This must be done to rewrite the current vin into this new module, otherwise the car will not start (vehicle identification number) because it has the previous vin set on it .
I already tried, other modules updates, battery reset, etc and I am a kind of lost...
sorry i missed the the green icon in the top right corner, can you pull another diagnostic and tell me what comes up after you hit recommendation's, but first let the car fulley shut down double click the key fob to shutdownfor 20 mins

Can you get in some details about that? I left the black cable unplug from the battery all night and also charged the battery. No improvements for now 😔
0x0401 is a security init for a steering column lock module or a PCM.
0x22 = answer from these that "Condtions are not correct"
0x21 = answer from these that "Busy, repeat request"
There's no way that SDD would overwirte a VIN in a FSJB or RSJB, however, if the security related stuff would pass, it would be allowed to start a vehicle even with a wrong VIN in these.

Thank you for your message, I'm still Lost at this point, can you provide some guidance?
Well, not you've just got the things worse. At this moment to recover the vehicle from this situation you need to make some tricks by modifying a sdd files and, in fact, manually putiing various security IDs in a few modules.
tbh SDD and security stuff are pretty much not user-friendly and before running any of these options you should have a plan "B".
Now the only plan "B" is to get the car to the qualified workshop. Sorry, can't help remotely, im not dealing with a remote sequrity stuff, since i can't check ownership of the car remotely.
Ok, Not sure if you are talking about eprom and chip programing but, I am pretty comfortable with code since I'm a computer programmer. So, if you can get into details or provide some stuff to run that "plan A" it will be appreciated!
Thank you
I'm not sure if it's a facelift x250 ( new shape headlights ), if it is this post and those linked from it may be helpful, as the internals of BCMB are pretty much the same as the BCM, so you may be able to transfer the pflash/eeprom data from the old to the replacement BCMB, or dump from the new one, and reflash after patching the VIN, using info from those posts. ( However don't flash the image in those threads for the BCM to BCMB! )
The car it's back online! The previous death issue was related to the START CONTROL UNIT, I suspect that somehow the mechanism was in an incorrect position and was transmitting some unknown state of authorization.
Process: Battery cable unplug, remove the start control unit cover and released manually the key fob, for assembling just put the cover and the unit in place and reconnect the battery cable.
Meanwhile, I reverted the bcmb to the original one and the car works again, so, the problem still remains (routine-completed-failed-mbcm-0x401) when installing a new module and I need to replace the bcmb by the "new" one.
any help on how to correctly replace the bmcb ?
