Default S mode

I have discovered an annoying problem. The dealer was supposed to fix it Tuesday, but they did not. If I come to a complete stop in S mode, I cannot turn the gear shift beyond D. If I let the car move forward a car length or so, then it unlocks. If I have the option of moving forward, no problem. If I really need to back up, I have to turn off the car and wait a few seconds for the transmission control to detumesce and return to P. Anyone else have this issue?

It is quite common. In most cases stepping down much harder on the brake pedal will allow shifting into any position with the gear selector.
