Default Seat Position

New to the forum...did a search....need help

So I decided to get a toy, 09 xf supercharged, love the car.

Picked her up, returned home with a smile on my face threw my wife the keys and asked her not to waste what little remained of the rear tires.

Ten minutes later she returned with a smile on her face, but she claimed my driver seat was broken, she cant reach the pedals.

Well the seat is not broken, shes just short. For safety reasons i have to figure out a solution or sell the car. Divorce is not an option at this point as it would be cheaper to get the current wife longer legs.

Please help

The C2Z-11156 XF Aluminum break Pedal Pad Set will shorten the distance about another 1/2 inch. It fits 2009 & up.

Can't you adjust the pedals to reach? Leave the seat where it's at?

Yes, you're missing a car with adjustable pedals. The XF doesn't have that. I have owned several cars that do: Dodge Viper, Lincoln Town Car, and Chrysler 300C.

Hard to believe! All the S Type's came with that. I did not know the XF dropped that feature.

It sure looks like it's still standard? Do you know where to look?
Do you have the owners manual?

How tall is your wife? Mine is 5'3"and she had no trouble in the XF - it might just be a matter of getting the seat right.

Thanks for the information as Jaguar has deleted this option completely from the XF. They have dropped it on the XJ as well so it looks like Jaguar does not offer this at all on any model??

Kind of strange but maybe they were just not needed by most people?

I'm struggling to figure out how her legs are too short to reach the pedals.
My girlfriend is 5' 2" with quite short legs and she can reach my pedals easily, as long as she moves the seat a long way forward (but still a bit short of max forward) and then moves the steering wheel inwards as far as it goes, so it's not too close to her. I have the stainless steel pedal covers, maybe they make a significant difference?

I'm with you OzXFS, my wife's legs are like a corgi's (in length, they are actually nowhere near as hairy and much more shapely) and she had no problem. In fact I can barely stop her from pinching the XKR, and I doubt it would be any different.

My 16 yo daughter had to drive my car when I fell ill on a trip. She is 4'11".

No problem except for a very nervous dad.

There's a lot more cars that don't have adjustable pedals than do.
