Default Seat removal precautions?

I need to remove my drivers seat to take it to an upholsterer to repair a tear in the leather. Are there any precautions I need to observe? Disconnect the battery before I start? I don't want the airbag going off.

Car is a 2013 XF, Canadian market with heated and cooled seats.

I don't think you can set off the airbag without doing something really stupid. You need power to the seat to be able to undo the bolts, you need to move it all the way forward to get to the back bolts and all the way back to get to the front ones. Also easier to get to the back ones if you lean the upright part of the seat all the way forward, but then you'll probably want to put it in the normal position for the upholsterer. I've taken mine out a couple of times and it's easiest to disconnect the wiring last thing.

^^ This, You need power to adjust it and access bolts/fold the seat to remove easier. Just dont crush the pigtails on accident, or generate too much static electricity and arc the connectors you should be fine.

My only suggestion is to use two people when taking it in and out of the car. Those seat rails can do a lot of interior damage.
I tape towels down over the door sills too.
