Sirius radio OEM install.
Well I have been lurking for some tim now. I have done my intro a week ago.
What I would like to say is that, the 2009 xf SC in Canada never came with factory installed sat radio.after lurking and reading a number of post where I read in some not possible. But YES it is.
1 - purchase a roof anttena with the SDARS (eBay 45.00 US)
2 - purchase a Sirius sat tuner (eBay 114.00)
3 - purchase a or add to the MOST fiber optic cable. ( I needed a 3 stack to go from amp to DVD navy then to Sat module) (ebay 30.00)
4 - purchase a 8 to 10 foot coax antenna cable with female plugs on each end and Z fakra connectors. (Discount car stereo .com 32.00)
5- find a reputable shop to go into the computer and throw the switch. It took them 10 mins. No charge. Lucked out as my service shop is fantastic.
To power the unit I connected and went off the DVD +/- source. The plug for power will be the hardest bit. I could not find one so I made one.
It took me about a hr to install everything and 20 mins to strip the boot and reinstall the panels.
I will follow this up with pics later if anyone is Intrested.
Happy diving
Jim
