Default Speedo needle light. Flashing

Hi all
Brought my Jaguar XF on Wednesday and drove it for the first time in the dark this morning and noticed that the speedo needle bulb keeps flashing on and off everything else on the dash is fine but it means that when the light goes off you can not see what speed you are doing.
Any ideas what might be the problem and is there a way to fix it.
Many thanks in advance.

Sounds like an LED in the cluster is going bad. Not an easy or cheap fix....

Had the same problem about 2 months ago, eventually the needle light went out completely and it was difficult to read the speed at night. My local jag dealer told me it was a complete instrument cluster replacement (not cheap) but fortunately for me my car was just within manufacturers warranty so they replaced it free of charge. I have since found out that there are small companies out there that claim repair any instrument cluster so if you don't have a warranty it may be worth while having a look round for one of these.

You can also set the trip button until Digital MPH are displayed..at least in the mean time you can still see your speed.

Hi Guys, I'm new to this forum but wanted to share my findings. My speedo needle wasn't illuminating and my rev needle kept flickering too. Obviously after doing some research I found that you can't just put a second hand unit in but I came across a company called Cartronix in Portsmouth who said they repair them, and apparently they have done loads of these! I sent the unit to them and they fixed it at a very reasonable cost and sent it back for the next day. Its been perfect ever since, they also give you a warranty that lasts as long as you own the car! Hope this helps someone else with the same problem!

Default Speedo needle and rev counter needles not lighting up

Cartronix in Waterlooville fixed this problem for me in 40 minutes by replacing the LED cluster. £150
