XK imported from Japan. The reversing camera doesn't work. Would this be because it is imported and has different spec's?

The different spec (if any) should not effect the reversing camera operation at all.
The most likely culprit is a broken wire or two in the boot loom, very common on older XFs and fairly easy to fix or replace.
Also it would help if you added to you signature if your car is petrol or diesel, as both are/were 3.0 V6 and it makes a massive difference when it comes to solving engine related problems.

Does it say reversing camera not operable contact dealer ?

Also, check the sensors, of one goes the system fails. The wire harnesses under the bumper that connects them is very fine and can break when rubbing against the plastic clips that hold it into place

Thanks for that Jssaab. Sounds like a auto sparky job to me. Not to good on technical things.
