Starting problem, just a click sound
I have a 2012 Jaquar XF, and it had an accident in the front, it is all fixed and it started, and now I have the click sound and wouldn't start even with the new battery
Well the bad news is the solenoid is probably gone, and a new starter is crazy expensive even though it's just a Denso unit, but they can be re built fairly cheap. I recently had the same issue but got mine re built for a little over $100 US.

It's actually smoother than original and has a 2 year warr.
Removal it easy, it's on the passenger side of the trans, disconnect the battery's (I think you have 2)
Remove the 2 electrical leads from the starter (1 big the +, one small to the solenoid) take out the 2 starter bolts, one on the V8's is real close to the Catalaytic converter so you have to get creative to get it all the way out.
