Default Stiff Window (Driver's Side)

Hi,

My driver's side window has become increasingly stiff and struggles to close, opening is fine.

Can I simply squirt WD40 in the window recess or is it off to the mechanics??

Thanks, 6huckle5

You would be better off using a silicone based grease but WD 40 should get you out of the bind in the meantime.

Ps, welcome to the forum.

Thats not good news am afraid, I have just had a new regulator fitted under warranty, it's a complete unit incl' motor. These motors get lazy and eventually stop working all together seems to be fairly common. My drivers window was the same as yours I thought it was just tight as well so I sprayed silicon spray around the felt material (halfords) blue tin, this helped but only temporally. It would work better when raining or just after washing the car. You should never use grease or WD on these rubbers or felts around your window it will collect dirt etc' and scratch your glass it may also perish the rubber over time.

hope this helps

Wullie.
