THERES NO WAY TO ACCURATLY HOLD A STEADY RPM, YOU SHOULD TRY DOING A DYNO STATE INSP AND HOLDING A STEADY RPM/SPEED, DAMN NEAR IMPOSSIBLE

As the throttle control is electronic (drive by wire) your right foot does not directly control the throttle so it would be impossible to know if the rpm is steady or changing due to anything you are doing. Presumably, the electronic throttle only "knows" how fast the engine is running by feedback from the tach.

One amazing thing about the XF (and the X Tyoe I had before) is how the Jaguar engineers make a purely electronic throttle feel like it is actually connected to the engine. I swear I can feel the engine vibrations through the pedal just as if the throttle were connected by cable to the pedal.
