Timing Belt XF 2013 2.2 Diesel
Hi. I'd really appreciate any help with this issue please. (I hope I'm on the correct forum: my XF is an early 2013 2.2 diesel which I think is X250).
My XF has done almost 61,000 miles since registered in March 2013. It's regular service interval as designated by Jaguar is 12 months or 16,000 miles and I've always had the car serviced every 12 months; the car has never got close to doing 16,000 miles in any 12 month period.
I can't find any definitive guidance as to when the cam or timing belt should be replaced. Users on some Jaguar forums reckon the cam/timing belt should be replaced at 7 years, regardless of the mileage the car has done at that time, whilst most other comments I've seen seem definite that it should be replaced at 10 years old or 105,000 miles which is very close to the service intervals I've always observed. I've tried the Jaguar on-line service history although there was no guidance on this and I'm not particularly confident about the local Jaguar dealership given past experience with them.
It might be best just to have the timing belt replaced for general peace of mind though, with the mileage on the car being so low, averaging just over 7,000 miles/year from new, it doesn't seem merited.
Very grateful for any opinions or input please!
