Tire skip?
Guys, my car feels like the tires are slipping when I start out from a stop but it's been doing it more often now. I would describe it as a "stutter or skip" similar to accelerating on gravel. I have checked the tire pressure, cross rotated them and all. Plenty of tread left and alignment is perfect. I should mention it happens regardless of pavement (wet/dry). I am talking about regular acceleration (not flooring it).
Could it be an issue with the transmission?
I should add that when I come to a complete stop I am experiencing a "lurch" or "hard downshift" before complete stop.

What tires are you running? And is it getting colder where you are? I have summer sport on mine so around this time of year I can feel traction diminishing as it gets a bit cooler. Not long until the winter tires go back on...
Continental DWS. Issue exists regardless of weather temperature.
Any error codes if you pull them from the system?
Sounds like the traction control is cutting in too aggressively. Try it (carefully) with traction part of fully off and see if that makes a difference. Sounds like the system may be detecting perceived traction issues and trying to intervene.

It may be the electronic differential acting up, if you search the forums there are several threads on it that will give you more detail.
Most of the time when it was the electronic differential, if noticed early like you have now, it can be cured with a differential fluid exchange.
