HELLO I WAS HOPING SOMEONE MAY BE ABLE TO GIVE ME A LITTLE ASST I AM DOING THE CAM CHAIN S IN MY 2012 XFR SC AND I THE MANUAL SAYS TO PUT THE CRANK AT THE SIX O'CLOCK POSITION TO INSTALL TIMING TOOL WHERE THE CRANK SENSOR GOES BUT I NOTICED THAT IT CAN FIT MANY DIFFERENT SLOTS SO I AM ASSUMING THAT THIS IT THE NUMBER CYLINDER TDC SO WHEN I PULL THE ON THE PASSENGER FRONT CYLINDER THE PISTON IS NOT AT tdc MAYBE 30 TO 60 DEGREES BEFORE TDC ANY HELP TO CLARIFY THIS IS APPRECIATED I COMPLETED BUT HAD FOUR SYNC CODES WHICH BEFORE I STARTED I HAD ONLY CAM CODES FOR PASSENGER SIDE
If the pin is able to locate in many different holes on the flywheel it means that the pin is faulty. Its highly unlikely that the flywheel has many distorted holes that would allow this.
With the crankshaft key at the 6 o'clock position, none of the pistons will be at TDC so what you are seeing is correct.

You must have wrong locking tool. Should be oblong, all other slots are square and it won't fit.
6 o'clock is timing position and not tdc.
And please don't type all caps, it's considered shouting.
