XF 2.7d MY2009: Yesterday and today the display switched off for 2 - 3 seconds 3 times in 5 minutes after starting the journey. Then OK rest of the day. The sound switched off in an uncontrolled way, it gave a squeek like an old HIFi when switchingh off without reducing volume first. The music continued where it left off (or may even have gone on playing) so it was only display and actual sound output that stopped. Is this a known issue or is it hunting time (bad connection or touch screen module going bad).

Two issues that may be connected:
The touch screen has a known issue where it freezes showing the leaper only. Has happened a few times. there is a software upgrade whic sometimes cures it.
The screen sometimes says "Switch on ignition or audio will be shut down in three minutes" some 10 to 15 seconds after starting. I believe this is only a lag in detecting charging combined with the periodic battery cycling down to 75% of capacity, but who knows?
