I could not get the audio system to recognize the USB port, nor would it charge my phone when connected. I pried up the cover plate inside the console (it has plastic catches on the sides) and I found what I hoped to find- the connector that plugs into the usb port module from the bottom was not fully seated!

I suspect mine might not be the only one that has come loose.
