Default Vacu-blast adapter for AJ133 intake

I did a quick search, but didn't see anything helpful...

Does anyone know where I can source a vacu-blast adapter for the AJ133 V8? My valves are in dire need of cleaning.

If not, I guess I'll design and 3d print one.

Sounds intriguing.

Do you have the Supercharger off and the air cooler?

I see you have changed to Alloy pipes on the forward upper and lower CW pipes. Have you also changed the rear water pump connection, and bleed nipple from water pump?

I used petrol (gas) and Ikea paint brushes. To clean the heads of the inlet valves. About an egg cup full per closed cylinder, and agitated away with an (Ikea) paint brush for about 15min.

Then sucked it out with a vacuum cleaner and small silicon hose. Turn the engine over to do the others which were open.
I also tried Butanone, also known as methyethyl ketone (MEK), To no great advantage.

You may want to degrease the charge air coolers with degreaser to remove the oil and help to increase heat transfer.

Also change the supercharger oil when off.( has the isolator been done??) Check inside for a silicon bead if the snout has been removed by Jaguar.( Rub off and remove silicon)

I also smoother (filed) off the Al casting seams on the air inlet housing on the air cooler and the TVS supercharger inlet, as a bit rough in places to the cylinder head.

Mileage? have the PCV valve diaphragms been done recently?

Rear heater header pipe, can be done with supercharger in place but challenging.

The valley pipe and tidying up the the bleed lines and removing the plastic bits. there is a thread further down.

This is for the XKR AJ133 but there are some similarities, on the CW system worth a review.

Have you checked the bearings on the belt tensioners, Utilities and supercharger? If in doubt remove and feel the bearing on the plastic wheel. They have a bolt and plastic securing bush which feels awful when rotated in place. Be warned!!

Well, I made my own adapter and it actually works pretty well. However, the blaster isn't working that great. So I have a question for the peeps that have done this before. What grit media are you using? I've got 12 grit walnut and I just cant get the blaster to pick it up very well. I'm using this blaster from HF: Portable Abrasive Blaster Kit (harborfreight.com) I'm also using this media, also HF... 25 lbs. Coarse Grade Walnut Shell Blast Media (harborfreight.com)

Do I need to find a different nozzle or try a different media? I have the air set to 110 psi, which is below the max.

Here's a pic of the adapter.

I sprayed mine with diesel then scraped with a screwdriver, don't have to be too careful with cleanup only carbon.
