Default VIN Code check if XF is DAB Ready/enabled

Hi

I am buying an beautiful XF (2010) Vin: SAJAC05H5BFR90882
  1. can anyone tell me from the VIn more about the vehicle, I have tried TopIx and got brief details but would like to know more, especially the best way to get DAB, maybe it is already wired and I just need the module. Any help would be appreciated, including contacts in or around the Devon area that could help with an after market install if possible.
  2. Can anyone recommend a warranty company that I can comprehensively cover the new car (2010 XF) @ 61k mile

Kind regards to one and all, your earliest help would be appreciated.

Picture from garage showing spare wiring in boot which they say is for DAB Module

DAB module on that model would be under the passenger seat if fitted!

The wiring in your picture is for the TV, not for the DAB.

As mentioned the factory location for the DAB module in a 2010 is under the left front seat.

In my experience the RHD models 2009-2011MY are pre-wired for DAB, but you will need to add the module, and swap the antenna amplifier in the C-Pillar.

You will also need a MOST fibre optic splitter to add the DAB module into the loop, but the power connection is there under the seat already.

Note that the DAB+ modules for these cars are NOT the ones with CPLA part number, you need the DW83 version.

Any Jaguar dealer can enable the DAB in these models, it will need to be turned on, not plug & play.

Vin: SAJAC05H5BFR90882

Can you please let me have the full vehicle ID as checking it using the forum links shows it as a 2011 XJ6 / X Model when other sites correctly show it as an XF 2010. It's build date is 12 Aug 2010 and as I have yet to collect the car really need as much info as possible to ensure I can get DAB Radio. I am disabled and would need to rely upon a local auto electrician in or around Exeter in Devon. In an earlier response you mentioned that CPLA part number will not work. I have hunted for DW83; I cannot locate any parts with this suffix for jag XF of my year and model. In one article that I eventually found it just mentioned Xj 2011. PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP ME get fully integrated DAB.

on an info sheet I located about the vehicle it had a very brief list of features and several features with 'LEss' in front, does this mean that the vehicle does NOT have these features?

Regards

Lee

Lots have fitted the CPLA module that converts the car from DAB to DAB+ although it works fine it does have some odd behaviour. Somebody on the forums mentioned they were going to flash the CPLA to DW83 to make it perform correctly. Waiting for some news on this!
I would still get the CPLA module from ebay & the small power adaptor plug that is needed with the DAB+ module.

There are 2 relatively painless ways to check if the car has the wiring for the DAB antennas. Either take the panel off the left hand side C pillar (1 T30 torx bolt behind the Airbag logo) or remove the rear interior light (lever out the clear plastic and then the larger piece of plastic pulls out of the headlining, the same as if you were going to change the bulb in it). If you find aerial cables behind there, like the ones for the TV that you found in the boot, then the wiring is already there.

I would expect that if the car is prewired for the TV then it will be prewired for DAB. They wouldn't chuck 1 set of spare aerial cables in there and not the other.
