Default Warrantee Issue

Purchased a 2011 XFR back in 2012 and the warrantee has just run out. It was a 5 year complete maintenance warrantee. When I took in for the annual work, they stated at 12,000, then the next year, did the 24,000 the following year the 36,000, and after that the 48,000. The car only has 22,000 miles. Seems like they are doing more service to the car than is necessary? Am I missing something here?

My understanding is that they recommend service every 1 year or XXX miles...so if you are not doing all that many miles then they are just doing that years corresponding service.

1 year or 12000
2 Years or 24000
3 Years or 36000

ETC

On my old 2011 it was a very low mileage car as well and we were doing the scheduled service that was wayyy ahead of the mileage, but it corresponded to the years in service.

Hope that this helps a bit.

Welcome to the club./.I've just been through this and so has a lot of JAG owners with the same Platinum coverage..

The way it reads: is that you get a free oil change or whatever else is due at either 12,000 miles (based on typical driving year) or 12 months..WHICHEVER COMES FIRST..Like you, I was getting mine done once a year based on 12,000 miles per year typical..So at the second year interval, it was for 24,000 miles and so on..Like you, I put on less than 10,000 a year actual..That's just the way they figure it..

Now this is the kicker..On the 4th year as the warranty reads, you're suppose get the free service at 48 months or 48,000 miles whichever , just as in the previous years before..But in the Dealership's own way of twisting things and in cahoots with JNA, they end up charging you for the 4th year/48,000 miles service, even if you only have 15,000 miles on the odo..

What I did was to call JNA and bitch about the ambiguities of the wording and raised a little hell about JAGUARS's customer image, blah, blah, blah.. and they sent me, 4-$100.00 gift certificates to pay at a dealer for this service or any parts I wanted..Non expireable

Call: At JNA..Audrey Scolny...1-800-452-4827

My 12 is due in Oct 16, but I called when the dealer told me that the next year was on my dime. I called JNA and they created a case number that the service mgr will refer to for approval for the service. I think they realize that everyone expected the year 4 service with the 4/48 warranty. JNA was very helpful with this issue.

I did not realize this as I am the second owner of my XF. I paid for the 4th year 48k mile service out of pocket in June 2015. Will I be able to call JNA and ask them about this? Or am I too late to the party?

Can't hurt to call and complain...They seem to as Lew stated, trying to keep you as a happy customer....Mentioning social media as a window for the world to see, always gets their attention too.
