Default Weird whistling noise coming from dash?

Very weird. When the car is running and whether moving or in park... Ever so often I hear a muffled whistling/humming noise. It appears it's coming from the dash ? Maybe the dash center speaker? But when I turn off the stereo power button it's still there....

Then it will just randomly go away. Or if I turn the car off and then back on it's gone...

Noticed it a few times now... Anyone ever have this issue?

If so anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to X250 forum.

It's not a 'general' Jaguar fault with other models. Members here with the same model will be able to advise if they have a similar issue.

Does the noise stop if you turn off the fan blower for the heater/ac system? They can sometimes whistle and whine - particularly if something is caught in the fan housing.

Might be some type of ground loop noise. I'd check your battery connections. It might also be a wiring problem where interference is being passed to the speaker from some other wire and giving feedback.

My condition, "whine" will not change at idle in N or P or D or R. So no trans related issue. Ac on or off, heat on or off no change while doing it.. Idle RPM UP or DOWN increases and decreases in direct relation to RPM. BUT, when AC on for prolonged time it begins. Shut AC off for a while disappears.
I can't figure out what it is, IT'S NOT A ENGINE OR DRIVABILITY PROBLEM.

There's an air sampling fan next to the glovebox that is part of the HVAC system. This can get noisy, maybe a blast of compressed air might help.
