Default What is this? 2015 XF Sport 3.0 S/C

I'm having a mysterious water leak. I have replaced the infamous reservoir line that runs from above the throttle body to the overflow tank. Now, I'm seeing a bunch of coolant under the car and before I took the water pump off I thought it was coming from there. I now have the water pump off it seems fine. But I'm curious as to this black plastic piece back behind the water pump. It has Land Rover markings and when I go to feel it, it feels like it is in two pieces. Kind of like it has split apart at the molding line. Does it transport water? Could my leak be coming from there? How do you tell if a water pump is bad if there's nothing physically wrong with it?
Thanks. I'm trying to do all of this myself, my nearest dealership is over an hour and a half away.

This is just behind the water pump

If you are talking about the U shaped plastic piece with Land Rover printed on it then yes, this piece is prone to split at the seam and it's a well known problem on the AJ126 (and the AJ133 V8).
It's the lower coolant cross-over pipe (also known as the Y-pipe) and the upper pipe above it (in plain view in the engine bay) is also prone to split at it's seam.
You can now get both of those pipes in aluminium alloy, your best bet would be to get this kit which fixes/replaces all the problematic pieces in one go: https://euro-amp.com/products/jaguar...charged-engine

Wow that's was fast! Thank you so much is there an option for just the aluminum pieces, I just replaced the water pump and the thermostat housing and all of those other things, just not the Y pipe. My luck.... 😩

Yep, heaps of sellers of those new aluminium cross-over pipes on Fleabay, and they have recently had a big price drop, see here for example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/224893885947

There is also a metal update for the oil cooler pipe that sits behind the water-pump. next time i guess. I'm planning my update with the metal bits where possible

You’ll need an extra O ring gasket when changing the oil cooler pipe.

I have the step by step on this supercharger removal. What about this firewall that's really going to get in my way? Remove the wipers, the plastic cover and everything else?

This pipe is at the front of the engine, no supercharger removal necessary.

I dont need to remover the supercharger?? I have the top off, but not the lower half. If you're saying it doesn't need to come off, that will save me a ton of anguish. Please explain....

Just reread your post, thought you would were talking about the lower black piece shown in your photo, behind the water pump which connects to the heat exchanger and which just pulls off. It could be the source of your leak.
This is a 5.0 engine below but the photo may help you as I believe the 3.0 is the same in this area.

If you are wanting to replace the Y shaped pipe ( Land Rover branding), you will need to remove the SC to access it & replace. Ideally replace with the metal version. The little black tube behind the waterpump can be removed with WP off ( again ideally replace with the metal option)

[/Helps a lot. Thank you for the pic.
The journey so far...
The SC is off, finally after two days of banging with a small sledgehammer and a 2x4 and rocking back and forth and a homemade engine bay lift(of sorts).
Box full of bolts
hoses galore attached to nothing
Wiper blades and firewalls and water pumps, oh my..
guys I really hope I can remember how this all goes back together :/
