At what price should I offer for this 2012 XF?
Hi Guys, i have been looking into the XFs for a while now and have settled on getting a 2012 XF. I spotted this beauty and its been on the market since January and 2 weeks ago they just dropped the price from 39k to 34k (ad below). It is the base model with rear view camera and Certified Pre-Owned and having drove my co-workers jag i know i will love it. Now with 0.9 percent financing, how much should i offer for this Jag without insulting the dealer? I was thinking 30K as I want to pay 34K all together after tax. Any advice will be helpful!

Nice, I just bought a jag xf 2012 about a month ago and am a GTA guy as well so I hope I can help.
So 33,900 is with the certified pre-owned (cpo) warranty? Another thing to check is how long your existing Platinum warranty will be until. Check if it even has plat warranty (although I believe all XF's come with it at 4 year 80k km). It starts from when the month it was bought so check that..mine was bought Nov 2011 so it would end November this year or 80km what ever comes first.
My car I bought it at 78200km so the platinum warranty was basically almost done. Platinum covers many maintenance items as well including breaks, oil change break fluid change wind shield washer etc... as well as interior dash wear and tear items. This came handy as I got my creeking rotating vent greesed by them but any other items that are normal wear can be replaced/fixed by them under your plat warranty. So my car is just near 80k now and I got my fluids changed by them and breaks checked which are 70% new so no change there.
My vehicle is a 2012 as well, gotta love the 5.0 and its black as well with london tan interior. Mine is the premium luxery package but it doesn't have the good speakers (the stock speakers suck as theres no bass but the engine sound makes up for it).
I negotiated to 32k +3k for cpo warranty + taxs and its premium luxery but 782000km. Financed same 0.9 and I got it from the Jag/Landrover Metro wst.
I would say negotiating for 30k with the cpo seems reasonable.
Some points when doing your inspection for negotiation.
Look for scratches
check the windshield for any marks
ask about break pad life/ tires
Look under the passenger and driver dash (above pedals) and see if there is a padding falling down.
Check for noises on the rotating vents.
Make sure start button is no damage (mine has paint chipped and led light slightly bleeds through).
On your test drive, test the breaks. This is an issue I am currently having as when I come to a stop the transmission downshifts while I am slowing down (makes sense) but during the down shift the car gives and abrupt shift where the vehicle has a slight lurch/jump to it and the deacceleration changes. IT feels like what it would feel like if you pushed on the break again harder while slowing down. Anyways just check if you can do smooth stops and raise the concern. I heard this is a problem on many 6speed ZF's and its no harm to the car.
I think that's it, hope I helped.

Do a comparison search on the internet for your area and you will know if they are asking too much for the car and what your offer should be. These cars don't sell quick so take your time and don't get emotionally attached to any particular car. Be prepared to walk away if you don't get what you want or if the salesman wants to waste your time.
