Hey guys,

My first post here as I'm trying to figure out why my car starts to whine after doing start-stops in city traffic.
The whine noise only appears when the car gets too hot after riding from stoplight to stoplight and at lower speeds.
Sounds like a supercharger but I don-t have one and the sound decreases and increases in sync with engine speed.

No sounds are heard when doing highway speeds, it only appears after sitting too long in the traffic
Has anyone had the same problem? What are the causes?

Engine cooling fans coming on?

 

No no, this is like a high pitched whine. Nothing like the cooling system. I first noticed it about a month ago

 

Bearings on the cooling fan?
Does it increase and decrease with engine revs?

 

Pulley bearing ?
