Default Why I "THINK" I'm selling/trading in my cat

09/all options/B&W/heated wheel seats (my favorites)
non s/v

I hv owned or leased Mercedes, Toyota's, BMW Ford- u name it -
I am in outside sales- car is my life
OUT OF EVERY VEHICLE I HAVE OWNED THE MOST RELIABLE I HAVE EVER OWNED HAS BEEN THIS JAG!

I I leased it 3 years ago- squeaky sun roof - thats it- no problems-

the moment i went above 50k warranty
all freaky things happening- toms- warning codes that dont exist
Jaguar wants $1400-1500 to replace front and rear rotors and pads?????

breaks my heart- the moment i sat it in at showroom I had the great thought:
"DONE"

and really the TRUE reason I will sell it ? In NY we have 3 places
huntington jag - freeport jag - great neck jag.
These guys (yes they cheat) but many of them just have NO clue what they are doing…
I just took out every ding - got 4 brand new conticotact tires for FREE (log story) and ws going to have rims redone- razor burn- have the chrome louvres- its the hottest car in my book under 100k on road -

but Im not like many of u guys who tried to help me through last months-
I own a hammer in a condo and cane make a hole in wall.

was suggested to to jag specialist on :LI not dealer he wants 1000.00 at 60k to change everything- "dont follow jags time table of maintenance"
then some one on board i respect say "things seleaed for lfe" should stay that way.

MY TPMS still for no reason with like cycle for no reason in 2 min tell me I need ir in each tire when its perfect
this am- 2 min with engine off i get the "start car or audio will be turned off"
the car was running!!!

It truly isn't the car- its over 50k "things happen" bt when u can't find or trust the guy taking u for big $? I should have said "competent" its time to go.

and when my lease was running out before I bought it out?
I sat in bmw - MB 350/500 and audi.
after all leather in jag
and all the appointment - right down to stiching- these MBs etc with all their plastic look and feel cheap.
its sad… and Im not writing anymore to HQ in NJ

the only other vehicle i liked was bmw 535 with the M package…
not an m5
and looks wise does not compare to an o9 jag ….
sickens me- I dont mind putting up the cash - or i do mind- but it has to be correct.

anyone from ny? dont tell me abt the deaers- I know em all
one actually told me to change antifreeze 2 years with pre stone when the cars are set up w 100k fluid- yes check it but flush it ? he wasn't cheating me - he believed it

Haha ummm...what?

Is there a question here? Overall just completely confused by the post. (Sorry :|)

Since being on this forum (August 2012), and reading almost every thread involved with XF's, I have to say, this one takes the cake...

Just re-read the second line from the bottom. He is simply asking if you know of a specialist in NY who actually knows what he is doing and does not cheat you blind. OK tall order I know, but they do exist so any in NY area?

Also I think he is venting a bit but is saying:

-Loves his car
-Despite some unexpected problems still loves his car
-Would continute to love his car if he could get sound, accurate consultation on his issues and have them expedioustly resolved at reasonable prices by someone local

Sounds like a rational venting.

guys - I really have no clue what u are talking about.
I never LIKED this car
I loved it
i hit 50k and its one gremlin after another
from TPMS to battery problems that dont exist

read my posts i ave had everything from ford to bmw to mb to honda to name a few
this 09 jag still gets mt :"thumbs up " at red light etc.

and yes 50k - 60k miles one has normal problems
but if u are in NY u are dead
u have huntinton& freeport- thieves
or great neck dealerships who truly are thieved but dont know what they are doing.

give me one mechanic tats gets me through trouble free year or 2 and life is great.

I have received a lot of great info on this board…. but a troll??
im not
love the car
just can't get a realistic mechanic and i am lucky to check the air pressure correctly
shame on me

jmwciti, you didn't seem like a troll to me. Not sure why jagular thinks that. Seems like venting your problems to the forum. I am in upstate, ny and haven't had my vehicle in for service yet, so I can't say how they are, but I know someone who had their Land Rover service at my dealer and they were very responsive. Wish I could suggest something.

Jag changed the battery - and I truly believe thats when all the gremlins started
"car running then a waring audio will shut off- then tpms- etc etc

and jagular? always respected him
a troll i am not

i was sent to jag pro from others on this board
checked out battery did all tests could find nothing wrong
says new frot and back rear /rotors pads due at 60
k
$900k ish

all dealers near me wants 1300-1500!

he says does it all but the electronics as jag is like apple-
he can find shorts etc but can't reprogram - and he also confirmed all toms batteries are fine

love the car
hottest one out there under 100k omitting the xk8 done correctly
one guy said it right-
omitting jag pro who i cont know yet-
u live near queens all the dealers are really bad for service
I pay - i dont mind -but if its
a) not a rip off and fake
b) dont correctly

and i still think the screwed something up with new battery install and its been close to a year

You mean this
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...34/#post648637
There are quite a few posts by the OP on related subjects so your memory is in good shape.
I think he's just not getting resolution.

jwmciti - it is difficult for us because your posts are rather like being fired on by an information shotgun.
Shall we try and concentrate on the possibility of a bad battery or connections.
Can you tell us (simply and quietly please) what you've done re testing the battery and connections so far?

well i am embarrassed -and venting and then forget i vented! and I'm 50.. my god.
what I did - i brought it to jag pro in ny- he load tested battery tested everything all cked out - replaced pads - had to go back - they were squeaking.

now? we had a patch of 18 degree weather-
all cars with TPMS had warnings-
theirs went away-
now mine go round and round as I drive.
in a 5 minute period each tire will light up telling me i need air as i drive then go away for an hour.
I did what someone said- turn car off- brought all tires to 15lbs- turned on reinflated to 35lbs- in 20 min all good for 2 days.
so for that i had the sensors checked all good -90% sure is module.

sometimes with car running? I get the warning - "turn on car or all audio will be shut off" (the car is indeed on)

that happens rarely
i did have jag install new battery 4 months ago?

so now - I do love or loved the car- i am at the point where
1) brakes- I can buy pads rotors front back $745 oem delivered then bring to a small guy who specializes in jags in ny

1b) go to jag and pay 1400!!!!

2) electrical and tpms- he's no help - u need the jag diagnostics which is like apple

and again - i had 50,0000 trouble free miles the minute it hit 50,200 little things that drive me nuts
