Wider tire possible?
When I purchased the XF a couple of years ago the dealer put four new tires on but they are some inexpensive ones. Truth is they cost about $130 a piece. I have heard that a good tire will make quite a difference in ride so I am now looking to upgrade and experience this.
I'd like to go with one size wider on both front and back. Is this possible to do? I currently have P255/35ZR20's on the front (8.5" rims) and would like to go with P265's. Back are P285/30ZR20's (9.5" rims) and would like to go with P295's. The tire dealer I am ordering from told me that they ( CONTINENTAL EXTREME CONTACT SPORT) should fit just fine. Pretty sure clearance will be ok all they way around but will the current rims be ok to handle these? From what I have read online you need a 9.0" rim for P265 and a 10.5" rim for a P295. Is the dealer correct that they will be ok? I have tried to use the search in this forum but have not come across a related thread that specifically answers this.
Appreciate any input you guys may have on this. Thanks.

Not Recommended.
If you can get your hands on a set of XJ wheels, they measure 9 inch front and 10 inch rear with suitable offset that comfliments the XF (F type wheels wont fit). Your poor experience may be a result of subpar tires more so than the size. A decent set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, Pirelli P Zero, or Continental Contact Sport among other good tires would address that. Keep rolling diamter is mind if the car in question is AWD, which yours isn't based on the V8.

If I didn't like the Draco wheels as much as I do I would consider changing them out to a bigger size (pretty pricey to replace). The fact is I already have a new front Draco wheel on the way. The previous owner scratched the drivers side up pretty good and I finally ordered a replacement this Saturday. As for the ride itself I only know what it has been like since I purchased the vehicle so I can't say it has been a poor experience.
Thanks again Zereldo.
After more research and a few phone calls I made an appointment to have the wider tires installed this Saturday morning. It turns out that the factory wheels are sufficient in size to accommodate the wider tires.
I guess the Dealer knew what he was talking about. Looking forward to the install. New Draco wheel arrives today via FedEx.
I'll post a photo or two after the change out.
