Default XF Blind Spot problem

Hi,

ive got a problem with the blind spot system. When I switch on the ignition I get the picture light up on both mirrors, but then an orange dot. I don't get any warning lights in the info centre, and just stays an orange spot even on the motorway. The parking sensors both front and rear work fine so I'm lost.

do these use different sensors and if so what can I check?

If the orange dot is on in both mirrors and there is no error in the little dashboard display by the speedo, then it might not be a fault. May seem too obvious so apologies - but is blind spot turned off in the vehicle settings. On some models you can turn it off and would typically just see the small orange dot to tell you it's not working. When it's on you see the same dot at low speeds and it then goes off when you are going fast enough that it's activated

The orange dot is normal. It should change to the picture when there is car in your blind spot.

I can't find anywhere to enable or disable it unfortunately. Also it stays as an orange spot even if a vehicle is in the blind spot either side.

im confused as I don't get any error messages either.

I had this same problem in my XJ and I had the blind spot turned off on my settings. So I was the real problem.

Thanks for all the replies.

i cannot find where the setting might be to switch it on or off, sorry for being useless as this is my first Jaguar. Decided to treat myself after many years of having Vauxhall.

ive got a 2009 XF 3.0 Diesel S Portfolio. Just need to sort out the air conditioning as it has a leak, this problem and the top two speakers in the drivers door are not working, other than that it's an amazing car.
