Welcome to the forum mjsjnr,

I've moved your question from UK & Eire Region to X250 forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

(You have the same remote as I have in my current and previous XK's. Batteries last more than a year.)

Please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some information about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

Something is not right there, the key fob battery should last a lot longer than two months.
On both of my XFs the batteries lasted around four years (all four fobs).
Maybe you are using weak/old batteries?

Agreed. I got 3 years out of mine. Sounds faulty. Same issue with both fobs or just one?

Check to make sure you don't have one of the buttons stuck down.

I usually get 3-5 years out of the key fob. Sometimes longer.

Just replaced my first battery last week on my 2015 xf. Second fob still going strong, but rarely used. As an aside, my wifes 2016 Acura started telling us both fobs were low at almost 2 years to the day.

Default Smart Key Battery

My car is a 2015 3.0 SC AWD. I bought it new and the smart key low message came on in a little over 3 years. Replaced key fob battery and no more dashboard message.

Try energizers or another high qualtiy battery ... my no name battery that dealership gave me lasted 1.5 year and it was a used vehicle.

Just put in energizers its easy to replace and lots of videos on youtube for DIY.

It should last more than 1 year - when you replace the battery look for anything shorted or messed up on the circuit board.
