Either you have a ground fault where the indicator is earthing through the main beam bulb, or you have a faulty indicator/light stalk/switch.
Pin 7 to the headlight connector (black wire) should be ground - check you're getting a good ground here with a multimeter, also check general wiring around the headlights. If everything looks good at the headlight end it could be a faulty lighting stalk/switch - these are known to go bad also, but yours does sound like a wiring fault at the lights to me.
