Default How to test high beams on 09 XF premium luxury

I feel like a real dolt for asking this question but I cannot figure out how to test the high beams on my 09 xf. I'm pretty certain that the headlights are bi-xenon so they control both the low and high beam. I need to change both the side lamp and the side marker lamp in each headlight and would like to change anything else that's required while I'm in there.

Does anyone know how I can test the high beam lights? I think the high beams are on an auto function so they'll come on as required. I wish I could figure out how to turn them on manually lol

Sorry for the dumb question lol

REALLY! That is what the owners manual is for. Push/pull the turnsignal stalk.

Lol thanks. I guess this is how it's done on most other types of vehicles. Sorry for the dumb question.

Until the 2012 model year the low and high beam lights are separate, not all in one. The high beam lamp is halogen and inboard of the low beam lamp, which can be either halogen or bi-xenon, depending on the model.

Yeah my low beam is bi xenon. High beam is halogen.

My side lamps and side markers were burnt out so I had to replace them. Honestly what a pain in the butt lol. I even managed to snap the plastic tab that connects the bolt to the chassis on one of the headlights. Had to break out the crazy glue for that one. Fun stuff.
