Default XFR Brake Pads

Does anybody know what type/manufacturer brake pads are fitted on the XFR from the factory? Rotors? I was looking to do my own brake job. The factory pads stop amazing, super tight pedal. Only downside is they dust really bad. But they perform so well I'm going to stick with the factory pads.

I can't remember for sure the brand of OEM pads my 2010 XFR came with, I think they may have been Jurid, but the calipers were ATE.
I think it is a JLR secret who makes their brake rotors!
If you want new pads which perform as well as the OEM pads and have the same amount of initial bite (ie a helluva lot!) then you can't go past Centric PosiQuiet semi-metallic.
I fitted them to my XFR and they were identical in every way to the OEM pads but only about half the dust.
Get them cheap (less than half the cost of OEM pads) at Rock Auto: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...brake+pad,1684
Centric part # 10414480 for the fronts and 101414490 for the rears.
From all reports the Centric rotors are almost identical to OEM and also perform the same, you can get a full rotors plus pads fronts and rears replacement kit from Rock Auto for waaaay less than OEM, see here: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...+pad+kit,13824
For a bit of bling you can also get after-market slotted and/or drilled rotors and pads kits fairly cheap, just search Fleabay Motors under "Jaguar XFR brakes" and you will get hundreds of hits.
I bought one of those kits some six years ago, Hart brand, for my XFR and they were great, so good that the rotors are now on my F-Type and still looking and performing like new after six years. The kit was advertised as "with ceramic brake pads" but they turned out to be the exact same Centric PosiQuiet semi-metallic I already had which seems as though that is what you want anyway. If you want much less noise and almost zero brake dust then go for true ceramic brake pads such as EBC Redstuffs, but you will lose the initial "bite".

I have the EBC Redstuff and zero brake dust. You absolutely do lose the initial bite, but I love the feel because I can actually use the brakes smoothly without irritating my passengers. If you love and want to retain the immediate bite sensation, go for OEM or the PosiQuiets Oz recommended.

Yep, that was the other problem with the OEM pads and to a slightly lesser extent with the Centric pads - impossible to drive smoothly in stop/go peak hour traffic, the brake pedal was like an on/off switch no matter how hard I tried to modulate it, the slightest pressure and I and my passenger(s) would be thrown towards the windscreen.
One night after a few too many "cleansing ales" I asked my son to drive, and he had never driven my car before.
Every time he touched the brake pedal the car stopped on a dime, we were both thrown forward and he never got the hang of it, it was actually a little scary and dangerous with following traffic.
Ceramic pads are so much more progressive, smoother and forgiving and when you need to slow down in a hurry they work as good as if not better than the OEM pads.

I can totally relate to your experience. Commute to work in city traffic was always headache inducing, no matter how much I tried, braking was never smooth. Whenever my wife drove the car, I could feel how much worse it was to be a passenger during those stop-n-go situations.

Ceramic pads are everything you stated, I will never go back to OEM pads, and the almost complete lack of brake dust is another huge thing for me. A word of warning to those switching from OEM to Ceramic pads, you will feel that the braking distances are longer because of the complete change in brake feel. Until you get used to the Ceramics, brake earlier and maintain longer distances between the car the in front of you. The Ceramic pads will also need a bit of heat in them to reach full braking potential, so expect less brake capability on cold mornings.

Agree, centric makes great stuff, been using them or a long while. Had issues on my SUV and noise with the posi-quiets (yeah go figure) but the 5000 lbs towing a trailer stopped on a dime

I had been using Akebono ceramics on my Saabs for a long while. Love them as well. Stuck them on the rears of the XF with slotted drilled Prostop Stoptech rotors and love the feel, stop way better than the stock pads. Its not an XFR but stops quite nicely,
