I was at the drag strip last night having fun and midway through my third run, i heard a loud crack and something scraping the ground. Once I pulled over and looked underneath, saw the engine undertray mostly broke off, hanging on by one side. After a ton of tugging and pulling, I was able to get it off. Remaining half is still on the car.
I found the replacement part (C2Z29107), but I am not sure what bolts or nuts are needed as I don’t want to reuse the few remaining old ones. Anyone know the part #’s needed to replace the cover?
I reckon 19 & 20 will come with a new undertray. From memory, the undertray is mounted by 4x bolts (2 of which screw it to the bumper undertray, 2 further back), and 4 nuts in the remaining places.
So my parts list would be:
17: C2C32663 x 2
18: XR854810 x 2
21: C2Z3400 x 2
22: C2C32663 (same as 17) x 2

But this begs the questions, what happened? Was the tray damaged during an oil change or something and then failed, for some reason, while doing a run?

I honestly don't know how this happened, I didn't hit or scrape the bottom on anything or run through any potholes. The last oil change was about 7 months ago, but I did take the car into the dealer 3 weeks ago when I got a 'Restricted Performance' message on the dash. I was far away from home, so I cleared the code using an OBDII scanner and when I took it into the dealer, they said the code was cleared from the ECU and they don't see any stored codes. All they did in this visit was check for codes, I don't think they would have removed the under tray?
Either the screws that hold the shield in the front came loose or on my last visit to the dealer, they for some reason did remove the under tray and didn't put in all the screws, so eventually the high speeds caused it to bend and crack in the middle

i actually reattached my undertray yesterday after 2 yrs. I'd bet the front lip wasn't placed on top of the panel that shrouds the very front clip (radiator area). there are 2 screws (8mm heads i believe) that fasten the back of the radiator front shroud and the beginning of the undertray, with the undertray overlapped on top of these.
if i recall correctly (it has been since yesterday so give me a break!) there are additionally (2) 10mm nuts and (4) 10mm bolts
anyway, if the front of the undertray was hanging down, it could definitely catch airflow with the front of the car lifting on hard acceleration and whammo
