The front passenger door lock on my 2008 XF SV8 is not locking. The lock tab on the interior of the door appears to be moving as it should, but the door can be opened from the outside; several times now my wife has approached the car and opened her door before I have had a chance to unlock the car, the door opens and the alarm sounds.
The locks for this car are the fully-optioned ones with key-proximity unlocking, remote (fob) lock / unlock and the locking button on the exterior handle.
Last time i repaired a lock (drivers side rear door) I had to buy a lesser-spec version and swap components. I'm wondering if anyone can point me to the actual components that I will need to repair this particular malfunction, i.e. the correct electric motor etc to replace whatever has failed, so i can have the parts on hand before dismantling?
