Question Yet another dumb question from a noob.

Windshield squirters.

Mine hardly put any water on the windshield. It only seems to squirt when the blade is almost at rest. Is this normal operation?

Normal operation involves a single deliberate press of the button which should deliver a pre-set amount of fluid unrelated to the length of time you press the button (unlike older systems). Pressing and holding the button will cause more than one cycle of fluid delivery to be delivered in a continuous fashion.

Only if there is a fault or you press the button too briefly will there be insufficient fluid.

If you operate the system normally and too little fluid is delivered then it is faulty.

By "continuous fashion" do you mean that the water will squirt out as the wiper traverses the windshield or only at the beginning of each wipe cycle?

Only at the commencement of each 6 wipe cycle, if I recall correctly. I seem to think that holding the button down for only a bit longer than necessary has no effect. It seems to operate in cycles. I only need to have more than one cycle during winter which arrives on Friday. I will try it again then and report.

You can have the dealer set it to squirt on the downstroke as well as the upstroke, according to the manual I think (or vice versa - cant recall what is standard). But the squirters are the sorst thing about this car. There are parts of the screen that will never get water.

it's not meant to spray hard at the windshield causing most of the liquid to hit car behind you.

nice system i think.
