I randomly got the idea the other day to add a 4th grab handle to my interior. the holes you need are in the bodyshell, the only challenge is cutting holes in the trim panel.

My steps:
1. use masking tape to approximate where you need to cut
2. measure the size of the needed holes (about 3cm wide and 1.5cm tall)-this is based on the hole size in the passenger side trim
3. use a pen to mark your approximate cut area
4. use a box cutter to cut out a square of the 'leather' trim that covers the a pillar panel
5. use a drill with a rather large bit and files to square out the hole
6. done: re-install panel and screw in the handle



my hole cuts weren't perfect the first time, I had to go back and trim out some more plastic.


done: I bet I'm one of the only X308s with 4 grab handles!

Nice mod. Do the other handles have pem nuts holding them on to the body? Are yours fastened with self tapping screws?

 

All bodyshells are equipped with threaded mounts for either lhd or rhd. Bolts are torx.

To be honest, why have the 4th, isn't the steering wheel enough to hang onto, or have you fitted the apple iphone 'steer 4 u' app lol!

I'm glad Jaguar never fitted it drivers side as I bump my head on stuff like that. I guess it gives the other half foot rests!
