Be aware. You may not get what you pay for or what is promised by this guy. Many board members have had bad experiences.... You can get same type of intake system from trusted people also. If anybody needs details just ask directly from me. I like good guys, but I really hate bad guys. We are lucky since this board is full of good guys.

Would love one to compliment my Maxbored throttle body, but the cost means it's in the 'long term plan' pile

This is the part you're looking for, it's right at the bottom

"if you want just the induction pipe which can be connected to the original air box, this will cost £225"

This is a full pipe I did, however I did have to redesign the MAF body as on the 4.2s this type threw up a fault but on the AJ27 4.0s it was fine.... The MAF body would have to be a standard push in type if you have the AJ26 engine

they really do look great, and it's always nice when a part has actual performance gains as well

one day...

I think I might have a go at making something like that but looking at the existing pipe it seems that the biggest obstruction to the flow is the design of the MAF. Mine has a LNC1620AA fitted is this exchangeable with any of the other Jag ones out there as lots seem to provide far less of an obstruction.

I'm assuming you have the AJ26 engine, it is possible to fit a MAF from the AJ27 which is far less restrictive but needs a little box of tricks to make it compatible, which cost a small fortune (about £300) you can get a large programmable MAF from the states like Avos uses on his twin screw supercharger upgrades..... A much better idea IMO

AJ26 MAF flows max 400g/s, which is enough for over 520bhp. Dynod and 1/4mile proved.

Would this intake work on a 98 xj8 vdp? Any HP benifits?

I know I am bringing back a dead string. Was the MAF housing diameter changed on the 3" and 3.5" intake tubes? If so a majority of the added hp is due to the fact that the computer is calculating less air than what is actually going into the engine causing a leaner than stock AFR. If the 3" and 3.5" tubes used the stock MAF housing or a stock diameter custom housing then this intake is amazing and simply allows much more air into the engine. If the MAF housing uses the same 3" or 3.5" diameter as the tubing, this intake system will screw with the ECU and not work with tuned vehicles.

The intake in this test used the stock MAF. But there are larger diameter MAFs available that are programmed to work with the ECU.

Is it just me or does it look like the stock air intake, particularly the inlet behind the headlight, look like it would be the greatest flow restriction? anybody ever drill a big hole or 2 in that tube?
