I thought this would be a good time to give information about how to proceed if you cannot find a particular repair information in the JTIS21 for your model year.

Most of the Engine repair information for 2000 thru 2003 XJ series model is in the 1999 XJ Engine (In Vehicle Repair) Section of the shop repair manual. Whatever it is not in 1999 XJ section then it is most probably in 1998 XJ section.

When I say most, I am referring to the external engine parts and internal parts (camshafts, timing chain, crankshaft seals, oil pump, oil pan, valve covers, etc.)
